What are you looking for?

Bullet journaling is by no means a new phenomenon. It's been around a few years now and I have always found the idea really interesting. I loved looking at journals on Pinterest and Instagram and admiring how creative and organised they were. It took me a long time to decide to start one myself though because I had the idea that they took an awful lot of time and effort. I knew I could never create one of those Pinterest perfect journals. But that's the point I've been missing, your journal can be however you want it to be, you are creating a diary system to suit your own personal needs and wants and it doesn't have to be super beautiful and artsy.

So at the beginning of the year, I ordered my journal from Little Bird Singing on Etsy along with some micron pens and mildliners from Ebay. I started pinning loads of spread ideas on Pinterest (it really is the best place to get ideas for things to put in your journal) and I started journaling from the beginning of February.
I personally want my bullet journal to be more for recording my life than planning my life. A lot of people do weekly spreads like your standard diary where you can write down what you are going to be doing each day, but I don't think this is something I would use so I'm not doing it, that's the beauty of bullet journaling!

I am using my journal to record things like how fun each day is and what my mood is like each day. I want to write down things that make me happy as they happen throughout the year. I'm using it to track everything from my spending to my period!

One of my favourite things in my bullet journal is the habit tracker, this allows me to track simple things like how often I go for walks, eat out or get 8+ hours of sleep. I find this really interesting. It's definitely something I'm going to be doing again in March.
I love dedicating entire pages to special events and occasions like my birthday and Valentines day. I like to use my HP Sprocket to print out pictures for these occasions, I love this way of remembering and recording things. Definitely beats photo albums!
I have lots of ideas for March. I definitely want to include a spread to help me plan my blog posts, I feel like it would be really helpful.

I'm delighted I jumped on this particular bandwagon. I'm only a month in but I love how I already have so many memories and feelings saved forever in a compact little notebook and I have no idea why I didn't do this sooner!

Do you bullet journal? If you do I would love to hear what you like to use it for? What are your favourite spreads to use? Do let me know in the comments down below and we can swap ideas!
