DIY Word Art Frame

What you will need:
  • Photo Frame
  • White card
  • Felt tip pens (markers)
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Rubber (eraser)
  • Black Pen
  • Scissors
  • Pinterest for inspiration!

 Step 1
Pick an image on Pinterest, We Heart it etc. They all have lovely word art images so chose one to base yours on!
Step 2
The first thing you will need to do is measure the card in relation to the photo frame. Using a pencil draw on the card a border which will show you what will be seen in the frame. You will have to work inside this border
Step 3
You could print out the image you have chosen or you could just copy it from the screen. Make sure to use a pencil to draw a sketch of what you want. You will be using the rubber A LOT. Remember it doesn't have to be exactly like the image from Pinterest, it will be impossible to get it identical.
Step 4
Once you are completely happy with your sketch use a good black pen to draw over the pencil. When the ink is completely dry use your rubber to rub out all of the the pencil marks. You will be left with a black outline of your image.
Step 5
This is the fun part! colour it in using markers with what ever colours you like. You could also add  glitter or other crafty bits to top it off. I'm going to try find some bits for future pieces!
Step 6
Place the card in the frame, make sure it is centred and TADA. You have your own handmade inspirational picture.

I really enjoyed making this, mine definitely didn't turn out perfect but I think that is part of the charm! I'm planning on making one with a friendship quote for my friend who lives in New Zealand and posting it to her. I think something like this, with a suitable quote, whether it be for a friend or a family member would make a lovely thoughtful gift!

Here are some other quick drawings I did just on paper.

I was thinking of maybe making another one of these. Getting more creative with coloured  card and maybe glitter and doing a giveaway when I reach 300 followers? Would that be a good idea? Let me know in the comments if you would like one I will definitely consider doing one for a giveaway.

What a great idea! I did something similar not to long ago, but it was just a motto on A4 paper. I think the idea looks better framed :)

much love.
